There was great fishing on Lough Derg last week. Jerome, fishing with Paul Bourke of Ireland Angling Tours, had an exciting couple of days pike fishing bringing 20 really good fish to the boat.

The good fishing continued over the weekend. One angler fishing with TJ’s Angling Centre had 13 fish with the biggest just hitting the 1m mark. Best of the fishing was in the morning during the heavy rain. TJ’s anglers continued to get good fish in the early part of this week as pike to 94cm were landed.

Paul Bourke and Co also continued to get lots of good this this week. Amongst the lucky anglers was Christian who had his 3rd pike over 1m (this trip) yesterday.

Anglers fishing with Pierre Monjarret had lots of 100cm plus pike in the last few days.  Luca Foroni and Claudio Giagnoni 15 pike earlier this week.  The  best ones were 93cm,  96cm, 96cm, 99cm, 99.5cm 103cm 105 and 108cm. On Friday Andrea had two excellent fish in the morning -106cm and  108.5cm. Both put up super fights. The previous week anglers Diego and Matteo had 8 pike over 1m, the biggest making 115cm!

Hermann Molenaar believes that no holiday in Ireland is complete without a fishing trip. Kira and Rob Bö through so to and took the change to chase pike on Derg. Kira got her first pike ever, screaming in delight and excitement! The couple landed 6 fish and lost a few good fish which ran at full speed into the weed beds and escaped.
