Kevin Lyons of Melview Lodge reports on the angling achievements of his guests:

Super fishing for both guest and guide….

Alain Renaudin from France was here staying at Melview Fishing Lodge once again for his three week Pike fishing holiday, the first week was a little slow due to weather conditions but produced some cracking fish. Kevin said we used a combination of different methods Hard and soft lures and dead baits, as time went on and weather started to improve and water levels started to drop the bigger fish started to feed producing fish to 17lb.

Kevin also took the opportunity to have a fish while guiding Alain and also produced some very nice Pike, but the best moment was when Kevin hooked in to a cracking Trout that went to the scales at 10lb – 10oz. We still have another week to go so check in next week to see how things go, and it’s looking good.

Fishing pals do battle with some big pike…

Michel and Philippe from France were on their first visit to Melview Fishing Lodge in Longford and what a fishing trip it turned out to be, despite the weather they battled on and were able to produce some great fish to double figures. Using mainly lures along with dead baits they were able to keep tempting the fish in some very rough and just about fishable conditions, well done guys you were great company and we hope to see you again soon.

A great fishing trip for Belgian buddies…

Jean- Pierre and friend Armand from Belgium were here for one of their annual fishing trips to Melview Fishing Lodge, Jean-Pierre is no stranger when it comes to fishing the area as he comes to stay three or four times a year with Kevin and Jane at Melview. This time he brought with him his friend Armand who is a very keen angler but has never been to Ireland Pike fishing before, what a great trip it turn out to be considering the first part of their week was slow due to weather conditions. Using both lures and dead baits they produced some cracking doubles in the end, see you in July J.P .
