It seems to have been a week of firsts for clients of well know guide and instructor Glenda Powell at the Blackwater Salmon Fishery in Co Cork. It all started when Mario Corona from Italy landed his first salmon with Glenda this day last week. This was then followed by John Burgoyne’s fantastic first spring salmon during the week and yesterday it was Zoe Hudson’s turn. Zoe was visiting Glenda on Saturday 7th May and was spin fishing on the Kent’s beat of the Blackwater when she hooked into a lovely fresh run sea-liced salmon. With some helpful advice and guidance from Glenda, Zoe landed a beautiful 10lb silver fish. After a couple of quick photos the fish was given time to recover before being released back to the river. According to Glenda Zoe was very happy indeed, as she was herself!
