Jason Nash from the Bandon Angling Association reports on the catches and conditions on the River Bandon…

Decent water levels resulted in good numbers of salmon being caught last week. Fly anglers enjoyed most of the sport however most fish were stale and in the river quite a while. Some fresh salmon were running but in very low numbers.

Heavy rain over the last few days has seen the Bandon flowing at an excellent level for fishing. Good numbers of salmon were caught since the flood dropped away on both fly and spinner. Some fresh bars of silver up to 14lb were reported on Sunday and Monday but they are not easy to find! Very good water levels should remain for the next few days at least.
One angler had three fish on fly, all released, yesterday. The salmon, which were quite red, weighed in at 4, 12 & 14lb. Alan Cronin also caught and released one fish.

Details of the guiding service are provided on the website and they are looking forward to making memories and enhancing people’s fishing experiences on the river Bandon.
