Salmon angling on the River Moy was patchy in the 2016 season. The final figure for the entire catchment was just over 6,000 salmon, which is in keeping with overall figures from the last three years but well down on the 10 year average catch of 7,922.

Angling declined considerably towards the end of the season both on the Moy fishery and throughout the catchment. What had promised to be a decent salmon angling season from early July, turned out to be a rather mediocre one. By August catches had fallen away to almost nothing and it didn’t really improve much for the remainder of the season.
