According to local guides, 2016 was one of the best seatrout angling seasons for many years on the Moy estuary. The quality of the fish was remarked upon by many anglers, with plenty of fresh trout in the 3 to 4lb size range.
Even in September, which is not usually considered to be as good as the earlier part of the season, catches remained steady with more small fish than before. Overall though, the seatrout angling, as well as the brown trout angling on Lough Conn, appears to be improving year on year.
