Jason Nash of Bandon Angling Association reports that Mr. Barton from Scotland caught a lovely, sea liced grilse on the fly on Friday. Great sport on a single handed rod! Very encouraging to see a good run of grilse pushing through the system at the moment.
He tells us that Salmon continue to run the Bandon, again mostly grilse. It’s very heartening to see a good, early run of these fish and whilst they are not running in big numbers, the entry of fresh fish is consistent. What should be said also is that the fish are in great condition and it has been mentioned on numerous occasions how hard fighting they have been. There is still no sign of any major rainfall on the way but the showers are helping to freshen up what is a low river.
Go Fishing…
For the new year, Bandon Angling Association have set up a new website which you can view here. A new guiding service has been launched in conjunction with Jason Nash, Peter Aspinwall and Phil Dewey. Details of the guiding service are provided on the website and they are looking forward to making memories and enhancing people’s fishing experiences on the river Bandon.

Eileen Carroll Murphy IFI reports from the River Bandon and the River Lee for the week ended Sunday 26th June 2016:
River Bandon
There were about 25 fish reported for the week. The majority of them were grilse and were caught on the lower river on worm ‘ shrimp ‘ and fly. The river is very low at the moment but there is rain forecast for midweek so that should liven things up.
