There are reports of good bass fishing in Cork Harbour being received at this office over the last few days. Superb bass angler Andrew Davies had 9 bass in one evening session recently. In addition, Eire Bass guide Richie Ryan landed 5 bass the following day before the weather deteriorated.
Richie says he feels guilty fishing what used to be the closed season. Marks and how they fish at this time of year is a whole new experience he says. All fish were returned safely as per the recently changed regulations. Both anglers together with bass guru Pat O Shea were involved in the bass satellite tagging program in Cork harbour over the past 2 years. We all await the outcome from that excellent project which should be available soon.
