The Burrishoole Fishery opened last Wednesday under Bye-Law 951 with the following conditions: Catch & Release for all wild fish, ranched carcass tagged, barbless single hooks only.
On opening day, Pat Hughes from Lisburn caught the first fish of the season, a ranched salmon weighing 2.2kg. After his first fish, Pat landed another two salmon which marked a promising start to the season on Lough Furnace.
