Stefan Martin from Killybegs Mariners SAC reports on serious angling adventure in Belmullet…
Another fantastic adventure west with the club to Belmullet at the weekend and as usual the craic was mighty and the fishing was great. 16 members spread out trying an array of beaches for the entire day and all would meet up in the evenings in the great hospitality of the western strands hotel and Mcdonnells Bar.
Some of the finest fish anywhere on the coast were reeled in from the green surf of the spectacular erris beaches, turbots to 35cm and flounder to 39cm and seatrout breaking the 60cm mark.
A big thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and a great time was had by all, looking forward to getting back down quickly again.
