Eamon Gray, Breffni Arms Hotel Arva tells us that the Marshall party from Manchester are getting some great sport despite the conditions. Bright sunshine is not an anglers friend but they are really having a good time and getting some decent double figure fish – not all pike. One of them had a trout estimated to weigh 12lb.
Elsewhere in Cavan the Lee brothers, who were pleasure fishing on Sunday, had some good fun with the pike. The highlight of their day was a double hook up of double figure pike – one weighing 12 lb one 11.5 lb.
Last weekend ten boats took part in a competition on Swan Lake, Lough Gowna (Sunday 14th May). On the day 40 fish were caught with the heaviest weight recorded 8lb 6.5ozs (Kieran Lee) and Stephen Lee caught pike weighing 7lb 6ozs
