This year’s Lough Ree International Pike Festival & World Cup was an unqualified success as the lake demonstrated just how inedible the quality of the its pike fishing is. The number of pike over 100cm caught during the course of the competition was so high that on the second day of fishing only pike over 104.5cm would make it into the top 10. In fact there were 21 fish over 100cm caught by the anglers that day.
