Monday 30th July  to Sunday 5th August 2018.

The Drowes remained low. There was some rain and this did rise the river slightly from very low to low. The gauge read 0.25m at the start of the week and had crept up to 0.33m by the end of Sunday. The fishery was quiet. The residents booked into the angling accommodations reported a few grilse caught and Denis O’Toole fishing the Sea Pools on Thursday evening recorded 3 grilse to 4lb caught on a fly with 2 of these released again.

River Drowes

The Drowes Fishery is one of Ireland’s premier spring salmon and grilse fisheries. The river is some 5 miles in length, with over 70 named pools, flowing from Lough Melvin at Lareen Bay and entering the sea at Tullaghan, just outside Bundoran. The Drowes has a wide variety of water suitable for all fishing methods, including several miles of good fly water and deeper slower moving pools suitable for spinning and bait fishing.
