Bright sunshine, high temperatures and low water levels made for very difficult angling conditions on the Moy for the week ended 08 July. Fly and Bubble and fly were the most successful methods with 216 salmon reported caught. On the Moy Fishery 50 salmon were caught. James Cartwright, UK, had fish of  4 and 5 lbs on fly at the Ridge Pool. Michael Mills, UK, had 2 grilse at 3 lbs on fly from the Ridge Pool. Also fishing the Ridge Pool, Pat Gorman, Cong, Miguel Angel Diaz Gomez, Spain, and Michael McKinney, NI, all had grilse around 5lbs on Fly.

Brendan Garland, NI, had 2 grilse of 3.5 6.5 lbs on fly in the Weir Pool and both were released (water temperature below 20C on the day). James Dobson ,UK, had a grilse of 4.5 lbs on fly from the Cathedral Beat abnd Garrett Ruigrok, Dublin, caught and released 2 grilse of  4 and 5 lbs on fly (water temperature below 20C on the day).

Upstream, fishing on the Mount Falcon Fishery, Mike Caulfield, USA, had 2 salmon on Bubble and fly, both released (water temperature below 20C on the day).  David Campbell, UK, had 2 fish of 3 5 lbs on Bubble & fly at the Coolcronan Fishery. Peter Thornton, UK, had 2 salmon of  3.5 and 4 lbs on spinner over at the Cloongee Fishery and Mark Parsley, UK, had 2 salmon of 3 and 4 lbs on worm. Pascal Nicolas, France, 3 grilse between 3 and 4lb on fly – East Mayo Anglers and Erie Lesage, France, also had a 5 lbs fish here.
