The dry weather continued as did the very low water levels. The fishery was quiet but for the rods booked into the fishery accommodations. A few grilse were reported and the Sea Pools are the best destination on the river where salmon can nip in (and out) during the high tides.

Lough Melvin

Lough Melvin remained very low this week. With all the bright, hot weather there are few anglers venturing out on the same and it seems there is little to report this week.

River Drowes

The Drowes Fishery is one of Ireland’s premier spring salmon and grilse fisheries. The river is some 5 miles in length, with over 70 named pools, flowing from Lough Melvin at Lareen Bay and entering the sea at Tullaghan, just outside Bundoran. The Drowes has a wide variety of water suitable for all fishing methods, including several miles of good fly water and deeper slower moving pools suitable for spinning and bait fishing.
