Skipper Mark Gannon reportes on the fishing news from Courtmacsherry…
29 November: The last day we made it out to sea was the 21 st November, a pet day and a welcome break in the poor weather we had been having. The angling was first class with Henk landing the heaviest fish; a Pollack of 9.5 lbs. Apart from that we had medium sized Cod, plenty Coalfish and a few good Ling all on the offshore reefs with shads and pirkers.
The only reports I have re fishing in the Estuary was a Specimen Bass of 10.5 lbs for Finbar Keane taken on the 10th of November. What a fish! Peeler crab did the trick but quite a few medium sized bass on Lugworm were taken near Burren Rock, a great spot to dig lug also.
Courtmacsherry Angling along with Shane O’Reilly of Fisheries Ireland, will have stands at the Hengelsport en Visbotenbeurs in Utrecht this weekend the 30th November untill the 2nd December ,promoting Angling in Ireland. Hope to meet a lot of our Dutch Clients and meet new clients also.
Hopefully the weather may settle down after Diana passes through and allow us to get out south for a day at the wrecks!
Mark.
