Stefan Martin from Killybegs Mariners SAC reports on the fishing around Donegal Bay…
25 August: Good fun again at last night’s penultimate summer league outing as 13 anglers cast out into lovely conditions and there was plenty of fish going to keep things interesting. A total of 8 different species caught and released including dogs, coleys, pollack, dabs, flounder, whiting, poor cod and trout.
Scores were close with time running out and a nice 47cm pollack for Dessie was surely the longest fish but with 2 minutes to go a last cast for John Cunningham and his rod was lifted off the tripod and the butt hit him on the arm and a cracking 53cm coley was enough to claim the longest fish prize and also the most points cash prize on the night. In second place the cash prize went to Michael McGettigan. Well done to all…
Next outing…
