With angling effort on the Moy increasing, 102 salmon were reported caught last week. The best week so far this season giving a total to date of 474 fish.

On the Moy Fishery, UK angler, Rob Malcolm, had a fish of 6.5lbs. on the Ridge Pool and another one of 6.5lbs. on the Weir Pool, both on the fly. Paul McGrory, Co. Louth, also on the Ridge Pool had a fish of 4lbs. on fly, while on the Cathedral Beat, local angler, Simon Leonard, had his second fish of 7.5 lbs. on spinner.

Upstream on Gannon’s Fishery, William Marshall, NI, caught a fish of 9lbs. on prawn. On the Foxford Fishery, Michael McIvor had a fish of 12lbs. also on prawn. On Cloongee, Neil Kennedy, UK, had fish of 8.75lbs. and 10lbs. on bubble and fly. Also on Cloongee, a party of French anglers with Thierry Coulm had 16 fish for the week all taken on bubble and fly. On the East Mayo Anglers’ water, Garrett McMorrow landed fish of 4lbs. and 10lbs., while Xavier Le Corre had one of 9lbs. on worm.
