Vincent Appleby reports on the week’s fishing in Waterville:

18/9/19 Well my sun it was like this all day, as my great Grandfather would say, a picture tells a story and as for the wind there was barely enough wind to blow a candle out and if one want’s to be specific, light and variable with clear blue skies. Yesterdays weather, maximum air temperature 17. 9 c.

17/9/19 Overcast this morning but come midday clear blue sky’s with light to calm and variable wind was the order of the day, but this didn’t deter Wicklow Currane fly Anglers, Mr. Peter Hughes and his good friend Currane fly Angler Mr. Vincent McConnell, from manipulating their flies and catching four Juniors for their efforts and considering all the elements were against them and their www.lakelandshouse.com Guide, they did well! Yesterdays weather, maximum air temperature 18. 4. c

16/9/19 We head straight to the South side of www.lakelandshouse.com UK Currane All rounder Mr. John Bojto, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com caught an 8 lbs. 13/9/19 I was reading yesterdays notes and I see I made a big clerical error on the World Famous Butler Pool by stating UK Currane fly Angler Mr. Nigel Henshaw, caught two Salmon, well I want to put the record straight, I’m guilty as charged and If I had taken time and read the text, it said and I quote hi Vince, Nigel caught one of 6 ½ lbs. and Michael O’Sullivan caught one of  4 lbs. on the Pool. So my apologies to Nigel and Michael. Now to today’s action we start on the North Shore and at Waterville Boats and at [email protected] Hampshire pro Mr. Nigel Henshaw, blood was boiling and rising fast today and for good reason? He caught 23 Juniors on the fly and his fellow pros, Peter caught a suntan and Trevor just said cheers every time Nigel’s reel sang the Currane Sea Trout Anthem. Now we head to the South side and at www.lakelandshouse.com Renowned UK Currane Angler Mr. John Bojto, while trolling with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com  caught a fine 6 lbs.
