Another week of few reports and not much to report either, by the sounds of it. Mayfly hatches were generally said to be poor enough in most areas, with surface activity and fishing to match. In a report from the Inchagoill area, encouragingly there was a good hatch over the weekend and more fish feeding at the surface. John McEvoy reported a nice trout of almost 5lb brown trout caught on Wed 26th on a mayfly emerger dry fly by Frank Costelloe of Ashford Bay and another caught 2 nice fish 1.5lb on dry fly and 3 lbs dapping by Paraic Fitzpatrick on Fri 21st.
Some good buzzer fishing was reported from the lower end of the lake by anglers fishing out of Annaghdown. The weather is still cold for the time of year, maybe this is the reason for the poor hatches and fishing. But as ever, we remain hopeful!
