The Rodgers Island section of the mighty river Shannon provided a top catch for Worcestershire angler Paul Hallen at the Portumna Coarse Angling Club‘ September Festival. His top weight of 84lbs of roach caught mostly on the whip was backed up by several good weights in the 70’s and 30-40’s across the sections. But it was local angler Arunas Mlecka whose consistent fishing scored 5 points to win the top prize of €1000.
