Damien Culliney of Anglersparadise reports on a recent fishing trip with a young angler:
I young Padraig out will his dad John over the weekend. Padraig is a young and very enthusiastic pike fisherman. He is used to catching jacks in the Liffey, ranging between 50 to 60 cm, and he was very keen to try and better this by catching some quality Co. Clare pike. So we decided to start the day by targeting some larger fish, and before an hour had passed, he had already smashed his PB with a 98cm pike. Needless to say, he was delighted with that result. But there was much better to come, as we persisted fishing and we ended up with 7 takes, and 4 over the magic 100cm mark. In the end, Padraig ended up with a new PB, a magnificent 108cm fish, well done Padraig some fantastic fishing 👍👌💪🎣
