This report from last Friday, July 28th, courtesy of fishery manager, Frank Maunsell, on the Owenmore Fishery in Kerry:

The water levels are holding up very well and there is more rain forecast plus plenty of showers for the next few days. We have had a steady run of fish with four grisle landed and a salmon over 8 lbs all released so far today.

There have been some good seatrout caught during the week and a lot more seen passing through. We were hoping to get out on the lake tomorrow but there are winds of over 12 metres a second forecast. There are two disappointed Cork fishermen wo were hoping to get out tomorrow but I will look after them in the near future when it is safe to do so.

Please fish in a sustainable manner
