A record attendance of 51 anglers turned up last weekend for the first round of the Erne Anglers Winter League, which will be fished over ten rounds in total. The match was fished in good conditions on a river that was running at a normal height and speed.
The best section was Innishmore where all the top 4 anglers were pegged.
Winner of match 1 was Simon Huthwaite peg 5 winning the £256 first prize with 10.425Kgs. Runner Up was Jordan Hall with 8.375Kgs on peg 6 with Eddie G third on peg 7.625.
Other Section winners were Johnny McKinnley on Bellanaleck 3.575kgs, Artur Bojczenski on Cleenish Bridge, Jim McAllister on Dolans Ring, Junior angler Thomas Marshall on Cornagrade, John Potters on Derrychara, Jeff Margetts on Cornagrade Middle, Pete Randle on Derrychara Low and Ewan Weed on Schools.
The next match will be in two weeks’ time on the 20 Oct, anglers who want to fish should book in as normal at the shop.
