The Leinster Coarse Anglers headed to Annaghierin last weekend for the first leg of their 2024/25 Open competition. Some anglers had a bit more than they bargained for when they found tents adjacent to their pegs and a gang of women enjoying a four-day camping expedition. There was plenty of music, chanting, drumming and all sorts of other noise emanating from the camp, and even a bit of dancing in the rain, not your regular bankside entertainment… But Dean Murray didn’t let the hullabaloo get in the way of his fishing, and he racked up a bag of just over 20lb to finish top on the day.
