A quick report from the Feale where there was a good drop of water in the river in the first few days of June. The river had been fairly low through nearly all of May so the flood was badly needed. The river peaked on June 4th at 0.57m on the gauage at Listowel. The Feale being a spate river immediately began to drop.
Friday, 5th June saw Eddie Corry make his way to the banks of the Feale. The river was still dropping but the current was still fast. Fishing a home tied fly his efforts were reward by a solid pull. He fought the fish to the bank where his fellow angler John did the honours and safely netted the salmon, a job well done in the difficult, fast flowing water. The fish weighed over 12lbs and was returned quickly after a photo.
