On Sat 2nd May the Dublin Bowl Competition was held as a team event with Dublin Trout Anglers Association (DTAA) competing against Lough Conn & Cullin Anglers Association. The competition was fished on a catch and release basis with nineteen anglers on each team setting out from Gortnor Abbey aboard twenty boats.

They returned a total of twenty-three trout with the local anglers winning this one with fourteen trout for 5480 points with the DTAA returning nine trout for 3560 points. Michael Ruttledge topped the scoring with 1240 points with Noel Shiels in 2nd place with 760 points and Martin McGorian in 3rd on 730 points.

This was followed on Sunday 3rd by the Pratt Cup Competition which is for individuals from the previous day’s team event on a catch and keep basis. Thirty-eight anglers again set out from Gortnor Abbey returning twenty-four trout to the measure and beyond.

1st place – Michael Monaghan/Four trout weighing 2.710kg

2nd place – Joe Ferguson/Three trout weighing 1.495kg

3rd place – Hubert Smith/Two trout weighing 1.065kg
