Mark Gannon reports on the charterboat fishing Courtmacsherry…

With the weather improving we put a charter together with anglers interested in gilling for pollack, cod and coalfish and then anchoring up to try for Common Skate.

We had some good sized pollack with JJ Kelly landing the biggest, and his brother Paw had plenty of medium sized coalies on feathers and lures.

At anchor we caught a few dogfish and within the hour Craig Kelly landed a Common Skate, total length 193 cm approximately weighing 160 lbs, an Irish Specimen the first one of 2025 tagged and released.

We fished till 5pm but only had several more dogfish. Great to get the season off to a positive start.

Go fishing…
