Following on from lasts week’s reporting on the Boathouse Bar 5 Day Festival at Portumna we bring your the last couple of days of results.
On Day 4 the biggest weights came from the Town stretch again with all anglers getting over 30lb and 4 of them getting good bags to well over 40lb.
- 1st Dave Brooks 54lb 3oz
- 2nd Paul McCaul,Β Ian Kelsey 47lb 12oz
The last day saw Stick Ups come alive and Dave Brooks had the best of it. Town did notΒ fish well at all with a number of Did Not Weighs and some anglers left the bank early at Stickups either the rain or the excitement? Dave had this to say.
Itβs blown an absolute hoolie and lashed it down like you wouldnβt believe. I kept it simple – two feeder rods both at 30 turns. Had bites steady all match catching hybrids and roach on 3 dead red maggots. Probably fed 3 pints caster and 1.25kg worms. Mix used was ever faithful Sonubait black river and deep water (left over from yesterday).
At 1pm looked up the section and everyone had gone home leaving only me and Ian Kesley on the end!
Final results
- 1st Dave Brooks
- 2nd John Deakin
