Angling guide Jasper Matthews of Wild Atlantic Angling Experiences was both angling guide and passenger on the loughs recently. First off, he had Dan and Grant out with him for a spot of wet-fly fishing, on a day which started with a nice rolling wave but became calmer later. Both guys rose plenty of trout and managed to boat a fish each, including a PB for Dan.
Next up, Jasper was at the bow end of the boat for a change, as his friend Osgur took the engine for the day. Osgur rose a heap of fish using wets, but most of them were coming short and so didn’t connect, but he did manage to bring a couple to the net. Jasper pulled streamers for most of the day without having any luck, but a late switch to dries on the last few drifts brought a bit of action, and he landed a nice wild brownie.
