The New Ross & District SAC held the latest round of their club competition schedule at Ballyhack last weekend. Weather had been forecast to be pretty miserable, but the anglers were delighted to find that the rain held off and they ended up fishing in pretty comfortable conditions. Sixteen anglers turned out and they were straight into fish from the first cast at 3pm.



There were double and triple shots of flats, and both junior and senior anglers were hitting into fish, and the junior section was very hotly contested, with recent Irish team qualifier just edging ahead to take first place. On the senior side, it was a close run thing too, but a late triple shot followed by a 52cm bass gave James Ryan just enough to give him the first on the night.
