Mike Gately, Wexford caught and released a 574 pound Blue Fin tuna in Donegal Bay at the weekend. Mike and his brother were fishing with Keith Clarke of Killybegs Fishing Charters.
“I was delighted with that fish”, Mike told us.
“My brother ,Ronan, caught another one about the 450 lbs mark as we headed back in.
All were tagged and released . No fish lost.
We did not notice any others targeting tuna although I know the Sligo boat was booked out
We saw Fin Whales, Humpedback whales, Minke whale and countless dolphins.”
