Lough Ree King of the Lake 2025 was held last weekend and 83 pairs of anglers took to the midlands lough to try win by scoring the longest cumulative length of four pike caught over two days fishing. With so many anglers on the lough, fishing wasn’t easy, but there were some smashing fish caught, including a longest fish of 112cm for one of the teams.

Winning pair, Brian Connaughton and Daniel Nesbitt, managed a best fish of 108cm, but followed that up with fish of 97cm, 97cm and 93cm for a total length of 395cm – crowning the pair as Kings of the Lake for 2025. Just 13cm behind were the second placed team of Jacek Gormy and Wioleta Hejna, with David Roche and David Fagan a further 10cm back with 373cm.
