Few after salmon on cold Melvin but a couple landed in Garrison

The weather was decidedly cold once again over the week with most nights bringing frost. The lough is also fairly low at present due to the dry weather over the last few weeks. Only a few boats ventured out over the week for salmon. There were two salmon recorded over the week. On Monday, Ernie Lowden from Enniskillen recorded a 10¼lb salmon caught trolling in Garrison Bay along the Planting Shore. On Saturday, Darren Maguire, Garrison accounted for a 9lb 14oz salmon caught trolling in Garrison Bay. We await a bit of warmer weather to liven things up and a little rain would not go amiss either.
