Lindsey Clarke from the Ballyshannon office reports…
The weather was decidedly cold once again over the week with most nights bringing frost. The lough is also fairly low at present due to the dry weather over the last few weeks. It seems there was little trout angling effort over the week.
We await a bit of warmer weather to liven things up and a little rain would not go amiss either.
However there was some bit of excitement among the Sonaghen of the lake when they were elevated to celebrity status with the publishing of the IUCN’s Amazing Species booklet. As the fish is unique to the lake it is listed as vulnerable and anglers are asked to practice Catch and Release to ensure this treasured resource continues to give sport to future generations of anglers.
