Lindsey Clake reports that with the warming weather, Melvin fished fairly well last week for trout with hatches of fly increasing. There were also a couple of salmon caught on Wednesday. Jim Connolly recorded the first fly caught salmon for Melvin. This was a 10lb fish caught on an Aussie Gosling fly from Ross Point.

Also, Noel Johnston accounted for a 7lb 8oz salmon caught trolling off Ward’s Point.
