Bill Cassidy, chairman of the River Suck Angling Hub reports:
Good things come to those who wait, the river Suck is getting a big facelift this week at upper Donamon.
This is due to the latest funding to improve access to the river and to provide accessible fishing for all.
This project which is being constructed by Inland Fisheries Ireland at upper Donamon will be a very welcome addition to Ballinapark developement just downstream and will provide up to 15 extra pegs. Its a necessary developement to bring up the River Suck to a standard on a par with other parts of the country, it will also give local clubs the oppertunity to advertise upcoming festivals in advance knowing that the venues will be there to accomodate the number of anglers.
The Suck Valley Angling Hub would like to thank .
Oisin Naughton and his staff from Inland Fisheries for their ongoing work and help to improve the potential of the River Suck as an angling destination.
Orla Leyden for her ongoing support and of course the land owners without whose help none of these projects would be possible.
The Suck Valley Development Co-operative Society who continuously lend their support for all projects involving development of improving angling.
The DVD of Along by the River is now available and can be ordered from the Angling Centre, Athleague, Co Roscommon, or show your interest and we can arrange to get some to you.
