The recent good fishing on the Bandon continued last week with 21 fish reported on the Bandon angling association waters alone. The majority of these were grilse but there were some larger salmon to 13lbs reported. The most successful method was shrimp although there were a few caught on fly. Seatrout fishing has also improved with some fish caught quite high up the river on dry fly. Fishing on the lower river has been hampered on some days by soiled water as a result of the ongoing flood relief measures in the town. The river is quite low at the moment.

Paul from Corrib Anglers reports on some good fishing to Mayfly patterns in the Western Lakes:
Small hatches of Mayfly and sedges have recently produced some sport on Corrib for wetfly fishing however it can be hard going at times. I have been on Lough Conn several times over the last few weeks and had cracking fishing with Mayfly patterns in and around Victoria and the Coleman shallows. On Wednesday last I fished out of Cloghans and had some of the best sport of the season on Mayfly patterns in a hatch that went on for almost 4 hours. But when the hatch stopped the fish turned off immediately. Cracking to see so many fish rising.
