Also enjoying a few days here in Westmeath were Portlaoise lads John Egan and son Jack who is only 6 years old. John is a very keane pike angler and has fished many of our lakes over the years, but it was jacks first outing on a boat, and he had a fantastic time. We fished Derravaragh in choppy conditions, and boated 6 pike on a variety of colorful lures. We also done a few hours on Lene in brutal wet conditions, and Jack really enjoyed his few days. As you can see from this weeks photographs Jack had no problem holding his prized catch, and has some great fishy stories to tell his schoolmates this week.
