During the week, Adrian Barry and his son Aaron from Swinford made their way to Foxford to meet up with local guide Kenny Sloan for some pike fishing. Despite the difficult conditions with a cold northerly wind, pike were fairly active and feeding. The group fished a number of waters including Derryhick Lake, Levally Lake and Lough Conn. The two anglers caught a good number of double figure pike but it was 14 year old Aaron who had the best fish of the trip with a whopping 28lbs. pike! Not bad for his first day’s pike fishing! Aaron’s next conquest will be a salmon on the River Moy when conditions settle.
