Better fishing on the Moy, 48 salmon reported

William Thornton, IFI Ballina reports that a combination of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, dropping water levels and increased angling effort saw 48 salmon caught on the Moy last week. Fish were reported from Ballina to Foxford.

The Ridge Pool, Ballina Salmon anglers, Knockmore Anglers, Attymass Anglers,  and Gannon’s Fishery, where Peter Marshal N.I. took a fish of 8 lbs on the prawn, all reported salmon. The Foxford Fishery also reported fish. Upstream of Foxford, salmon were caught at Foxford Salmon anglers and East Mayo Anglers had fish where Paddy McDonnell Swinford had a 13 lbs fish on fly.
