Young visiting angler Jordan Colwell from Belfast and his dad Al Marsden were fishing a beach in Mayo with members of the Galway Buccaneers SAC, when Jordan got walloped by a Rays Bream which took a whole sandeel bait while fishing for Turbot.
This incredible fish weighed in at 6lbs 1oz just a few ounces shy of the Irish record, the fish was released to fight another day.
