Pierre Henneron from France is having a ball here in the Midlands catching pike and perch. Pierre is staying at Killinure Cottages on the shores of Lough Ree near Glasson, and we spent a few days on Ree in tough conditions.
It was like a clip from the Perfect Storm film, as I horsed the Honda 20 hp through the waves. I have great respect for the lakes and the weather conditions, but sometime it can change very quickly, and out weather forecasters at times are away with the Birds.
Anyway we had some super pike, and colorful perch on a variety of lures. Pierre latched onto a super pike well in the double figures on spinner bait, and the small Perch also took a fancy to his colorful lures.
