The heavy rain which fell along the east coast on Friday and Saturday last has brought increased catches of Salmon on the River Fane during the last few days.
Paddy Crudden of Ardee had a very large fish on Monday of approx 18lbs which was returned. On Tuesday Paddy had another lovely fish of 11lbs. Other Salmon caught Anthony Carty, Dundalk 10lbs., Gordon Moore, Walterstown, Dundalk 11lbs., Bernard Halpenny, Collon, Co. Louth 7lbs., Brian Hughes, Newtownhamilton, Co. Armagh 7lbs.
Water levels are excellent at present and fishing conditions should remain good until the end of the season 12th. October. Salmon are now being caught all along the river right up to Inniskeen and beyond.
