Blackwater Lodge
04/09 Two grilse – one on fly. Sept. 5: 2 rods on an upper beat caught 5 including two 8 pounders, & one double figure fish lost.
06/09 One rod caught 3 grilse on spinner & lost 3 including a coloured cock of ~14-16lb. on spinner on an upper beat.
07/09 Best Day of Season! Twenty fish to 10lb. taken, including 7 for one rod on the upper river. Mostly on spinner on the upper river, but 4 on fly on the lower river, where the clarity was better.
Spinner is most successful in the last couple of days, but it’s in good fly order.

Stuart Feeney had a grilse of 6lbs off Glenmore. Mossy Brown and his brother Tommy had a grilse each off the Bishops beat. Marcus Bale had a nice grilse of 6lbs off the Ellis. Eddie O’Brien had a nice fish of 7lbs off the Golf beat and returning another.
Yesterday Martin Mullane had 2 fish on fly off the glenmore beat and all returned.Ray Drenann had 2 fish off the Ellis all on spinner and Bryn Ocklford from the U.K. landed a grilse of 3lbs off the Castle beat. John Ryan from Clonmel landed a 4lb grilse on fly also off the Castle beat. Prospects now looking really good as more rain forecasted so it will keep water levels topped up.
