Last week we went back to basics hunting the deep water holes for skate, conger, spurs and so on. A few skate were taken up to 140 lb along with plenty of strap congers. Spurdogs are few and far between at the moment but that will change once the squid and whiting move offshore into the deep holes. Weather is still keeping us this side of the channel but but when that changes we will travel further offshore to the best hunting grounds.
