There is a good hatch of olives during the day at Bog Bay and  Goreport area of the lake.  Blustery conditions for most of the week did deter many anglers from fishing the lough.  Among the catches were  Thomas Lynch had two fish 1.5 lbs each at Merry Point and Crover.  Neddy Clinton had one fish at Hollywell weighing 1.5 lbs.  Andrew Brown had four fish –  best 2.5 lb.  Caught at Church Island.  Michael Farrell had three fish best 3 lbs around Church Island.  Michael Kelly, Balbriggan had two fish on Wednesday weighing 2 lb. and 2.5 lb. respectively.  On Thursday he had two more of 1.5 lb. and 2 lb.  He was out with Peter O’Reilly on Friday and had five fish averaging 2 lb. each.  Cian and Darragh Murtagh had four fish ranging from 1.5 to 1.75 lb.  Michael Kelly was out again on Saturday evening and had four fish average 2.5 lb.  Eamon Ross had one fish fish weighing 2 lbs. caught  on Inchicup.  David Carney had one fish 2.75 lbs at Church Island.  Paul Owens had one fish 2.5 lb. at Kilnahard.  The McIntyre Cup will take place next Saturday 24th September from 11 am to 6 pm –  kick off from Killnahard.  On 1st October the Sheelin Stream Rehabilitation Competition will take place – more info on L.S.T.P.A.  web site or ring Thomas Lynch on 087 9132033.
