Gormanston and District Anglers hosted their first successful Winter competition of the season recently. Terry Keeley from Marino won first prize for his three fish landed. Terry received a €50 Christmas voucher sponsored by Browne’s Butchers in Balbriggan from Committee member John Curtis. There are four remaining Winter competition dates running from November this year until February 2013. The dates and times for these contests, which are subject to change, are as follows: Sunday 4th of November from 10am to 1pm, Sunday 2nd of December from 10am to 12.30pm, Sunday 6th of January (2013) from 10am to 12.30pm and Sunday 3rd of February (2013) from 10am to 12.30pm. Only competing anglers can fish the lake during the duration of each competition. The group continues to go from strength to strength. Committee member, Aidan Currin won the club’s ‘Angler of the Year’ competition that ran earlier this year. He was presented with his trophy and prize and was delighted with the win…..
