An Inishowen man has been sentenced to three months imprisonment for dangerous driving, in what a judge described as “aggravated and deliberate behaviour” towards fisheries officials at Binnion Beach in 2010.
Carndonagh District Court yesterday heard how Mark O’Donnell, Gaddyduff, Clonmany had driven his Mitsubishi Shogun Jeep on to the beach on the evening of August 6, 2010, where Inland Fisheries Officers Seamus Bradley and Owen Kelly were on duty.
Mr Bradley and Mr Kelly told the court how O’Donnell at first drove the jeep “slowly” around their marked patrol vehicle, before increasing speed, creating circular tracks in the sand around the stationary vehicle.
