Angling guide Pat McLoughlin reports that he took his son Gerard out pike fishing over the weekend. On Friday afternoon at around 2.30pm Gerard and Pat targeted pike and had 6 nice pike between 5 and 9lb and 1 big perch.
On Saturday 29th September the lads started fishing at 2pm and were joined by Jonathan O’Brien for the afternoon and again had 4 pike between 4 and 17-18 lb. On Sunday the lads had only a solitary 5lb pike (but lots of salmon).
The weekends fishing produced 10 river pike to 17-18lb, 6 trout to 8ozs, 1 1lb perch and 6 salmon between 5 and 8lb one 18lber lost.
